It’s no secret that the best PlayStation dogs aren’t particularly active on social media. If you follow the tastes of Hermen Hulst, Mark Cerny, i Shuhei Yoshida, you won’t detect a lot of posts in general. Jim Ryan, CEO of the company, appears to have no Twitter account, save for this parody profile. However, there’s a very good reason to follow at least one of these fellows: Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, has big Twitter avatars.
This time, last year, I had a very attractive and professional head shot, the kind of image you would see if you were doing an interview with Business Insider or something. However, sometime in 2021 after the release of PS5, Hulst’s profile photo became a cartoon depiction of the executive. Quite harmless, but certainly a big change from your photo with an illusory and excited photo from before.
However, what’s so good is that this image changes every so often to reflect a different PS5 game, and it’s great. Here are some examples: We’re pretty sure there are more:
It is the fact that the face remains basically the same with the same expression, but it is altered enough to recognize which series or game is being referred to. From left to right on the previous line, we have Ghost of Tsushima Hermen, Ratchet Herman, Horizon Hermen, and most recently Death Stranding Hermen. Just an awesome play.
We’re sure we’re missing a couple, but you get the idea. The best part is that we have a lot of this craziness that we expect. Kratos Hermen is sure he is on his way, and we could even imagine a Gran Turismo 7 Hermen where only his eyes pass through the visor of a racing helmet. The possibilities are endless and we can’t wait.
