Random: These fake PlayStation showcase leaks are fun

The last of us

It’s the day before Sony’s biggest gaming showcase of the year, so naturally the internet is full of fake leaks. It doesn’t matter if it’s a total summary of the whole PlayStation Showcase or the conceptual art of fanmade for a new handheld device, there are many online users with uncles at Sony who claim to have the scoop. Of course, everyone is completely wrong, but it’s a lot of fun to see where their imagination takes them to try to convince the Internet of what they say is real.

For starters, we have the classic fake leak that includes a whole summary of the event complete with timestamps. Thus, according to this leak, Bloodborne game producer Teruyuki Toriyama will be the first alongside Jim Ryan with a “world premiere trailer”, presumably of a new game. This is the same Toriyama who left Sony Japan Studio last year to create new IP addresses and by the way has now joined a VR developer. It is then claimed that the famous abandoned creator Hasan Kahraman will be there with another “world premiere”. There will also be a trailer for God of War Ragnarok, the purchase of Bluepoint Games, and Jim Ryan will sign the showcase with a speech commenting on the availability of PS5 in 2022.

Yes, well, friend.

Then we have a classic fake 4chan leak, which prologues, “You can believe me or not, I really don’t care.” This is probably the most fun, so we’re sure we won’t believe it. What makes it so funny is that the leak says that Naughty Dog will announce an independent expansion to The Last of Us: Part II called The Last of Us: Brotherly Love that focuses on Tommy during the events of the second game. There will also be a new Media Molecule game called Alive and Sony Bend will bring its new open world IP.

We already know that this leak is false because it says that Call of Duty: Vanguard will feature a multiplayer trailer, which was actually released yesterday. Still, we just want to introduce the title The Last of Us: Brother Love once again to make a good laugh. The last of us: brotherly love. Hilarious.

Next up is a new PSP, because of course someone has produced fake renderings of another Sony portable device. The images look pretty sleek to be fair, but Sony won’t make another PSP. Come on, we can do better than that. The leak includes images of the PS5 home screen, hinting that you could possibly run PS5 games on hand. This will not happen either.

This final leak is actually the last, which was broken just a few hours ago. Apparently, the developer of Days Gone, Sony Bend, is creating a game Men in Black, according to a fake sale list of EB Games. This ignores the fact that the study has already confirmed that it is working on a new IP. But, you know, we found it pretty funny and we found it included. Here is an image of what the tab has now been deleted:

Now we’re just a day away from the current PlayStation showcase, so there’s not much time left to find out what Sony really has in store. For now, we can laugh at all these fake leaks. What is your favorite? Share them in the comments below.
