Leading country music star Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney was arrested Thursday for DUI outside of Nashville.
Representatives from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department told Fox News that a deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident around 4 a.m. local time on Sept. 9. posting a $ 2,500 bond. No one was reported injured in the crash.
The group representative did not comment on Fox News.
Rooney, 45, founded Rascal Flatts in 1999, along with Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus, who are second cousins. In January 2020, the group announced that they would disband after 21 years together and embark on a farewell tour, which was postponed indefinitely in May this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rooney’s first band was called Unclethumbtack, which is a detail that Page Six believes he can’t set aside with a good conscience. Rascal Flatts ’debut single in 2000,“ Prayin ’for Daylight,” came out at number 3 on the Billboard country charts and the group has been royalty of the country.
In 2006, Rooney married the former Miss Georgia, and Miss USA 2001, runner-up, i Playmate of the Year for Playboy 2005 – Tiffany Fallon.
Rooney first fixed his gaze on Fallon on Toby Keith’s “Who’s Your Daddy” video, according to country music site The Boot. “Jay called me one April night in 2003 and told me [DeMarcus’ now-wife] Allison and Tiffany were in town, ”adds the musician. “He would say to me,‘ Yes! I would love to meet her! “
They have three children: son Jagger Donovan Rooney (born May 31, 2008) and daughters Raquel Blue Rooney (born September 7, 2010) and Devon Olivia Rooney (born September 25, 2014).
