It’s official: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 11, 2021. Confirmed in the pre-ordered pre-embedded trailer above, Insomniac Games ’second PS5 title will arrive in mid-2021 instead from the launch window indicated above. The game will be available for booking on the PlayStation Store starting today, and if you choose to deposit cash before the release, you’ll get a couple of pairs.
These are the Carbonox armor Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and the retro-blaster of the 2016 Ratchet & Clank reboot. The first has been updated “with high-definition materials, lighting responses, and beam-drawn reflections.” Meanwhile, the deluxe digital edition also includes five more sets of armor, a pack of photo-mode stickers, 20 Raritanium (a game update material), a digital soundtrack, and a digital art book. On the PlayStation blog, Sony is making fun of upcoming news, including the name of the mysterious woman Lombax.
“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a new long-running adventure. When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated. They will reunite, they will they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar premises (but with new dimensional twists) and wield a new arsenal of weapons out of this world. “
