Real crush Cubs with two HR from Pérez

CHICAGO – Salvador Perez fired two of the five home runs for the Kansas City Royals, who beat the Chicago Cubs 6-2 on Friday.

Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rivera hit the first home run of his career, while Andrew Benintendi and Cam Gallagher added two fights for the Royals, who are last in the American League in home runs, with 124.

In the sixth inning, Venezuelan Perez broke the tie with his second home run of the day against Zach Davies (6-19). The receiver got his other home run in the fourth act.

Brad Keller (8-12), opening for the Royals, completed his second consecutive solid opening after accepting two clean runs in six innings and two-thirds against St. Louis on Saturday. The right handed out six strikeouts, allowed a foul run and received four hits in six innings.

Richard Lovelady, Jake Brentz and Scott Barlow ended the duel for Kansas City, which opened a 10-visit tour. The Royals have won four of their last five engagements.

For Real, the Venezuelan Pérez 3-2 with two goals and two rebounds. The Dominican Carlos Santana 3-0. Puerto Rican Rivera 4-1 with one scored and one produced.

For the Puppies, the Venezuelans Rafael Ortega 4-0, Robinson Chirinos 1-0.
