Red Sox are looking to change gardener Andrew Benintendi

Andrew Benintendi, Red Sox left fielder, Appeared to be a fixed piece of the team in the 2016-2018 period, averaging 282/359/447, 38 homers, 78 doubles and 42 steals in 333 games. But after backtracking in 2019, he played only 14 games in 2020 as a result of injuries. Ara, seems to be out of Boston.

Jim Bowden of The Athletic reported that the Red Sox have had “serious talks of change” with multiple teams on Benintendi. Rob Bradford of WEEI heard the same information.

According to Bowden, Boston is asking for one or more prospects in exchange for the 26-year-old patrolman, with an emphasis on pitching and gardens. Benintendi has two more seasons under control before becoming a free agent and will earn $ 6.6 million in 2021.
