Refidomsa assumes operation of fuel stations owned by those involved in “Operation Falcon”

The Dominican Oil Refinery (Refidomsa) took over as of this Friday the operation of the three municipal gas stations in Miches, Intervened by the Public Ministry in the framework of an investigation related to criminal activities.

During a visit to Miches, the president of Refidomsa, Leonardo Aguilera, reported that the company has made a commitment to prevent the population from running out of fuel as a result of the closure of the stations.

The stations are owned by people whom the Public Ministry has under investigation as a result of what has been called “Operation Falcon”, according to a press release from the entity.

He said the measure was taken in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) which authorized the operation of the stations to remain under the responsibility of Refidomsa.

He indicated that upon receiving the Attorney General’s request and assessing its viability, he raised the case to President Luis Abinader, who gave his approval.

“Although the refinery does not operate fuel stations or engage in the retailing of petroleum products, we have the most extensive experience in everything related to the business and are able to manage all service stations located in this situation or in any other that deserves our intervention “, the executive detailed.

He said the most important thing from now on is ensure that the assumed stations operate normally so that they decide their final destination in the process carried out by the Public Ministry.
