According to the USCIS, This category of nonimmigrant visa applies to people who want to provide services in a specialized field, services of great merit and distinguished skills for development projects or cooperative research with the Department of Defense (DOD ) or as a haute couture model or for advertising. As a skilled worker or haute couture model H-1B, you may be admitted for a period of up to three years. Its term may be extended, but in general it may not extend beyond six years, although certain exceptions may be granted.
Registration for this type of visa is done virtually and has no cost of ten dollars for each application. Here are the steps you must follow to register your request:
1. Create an account on the official USCIS website
The first thing you need to do is follow the steps to create your account at www.uscis.gov. At the top right of the website you will find a button that says ‘Register’. and follow the steps provided to create your account.
2. Select your account type
After creating your account, you must select on the system that you are applying for the H-1B work visa and click continue. Mind you, if you have a lawyer hired to do the paperwork, you don’t have to click ‘complete registration’. Talk to your legal representative to prepare the registration as indicated and the password required by the website.

3. process the data

Important dates for registration:
March 9: Open registration period H-1B at noon, its time.
March 25: Closes the H-1B check-in period at noon, this time.
March 31: Final date on which USCIS plans to notify selected applicants.
April 1: The earliest date on which H-1B petitions may be submitted subject to the maximum regulatory amount for fiscal year 2022.
How do I know the status of your application?
USCIS intends to notify applicants and their representatives with selected records through their USCIS accounts no later than March 31, 2021. An applicant’s online USCIS account will display one of the following four statuses for each record:
Sent: Registration has been submitted and is eligible for selection. If the initial selection process has been completed, this record remains eligible, unless later invalidated, to be selected in any selection subsequent to the fiscal year in which it was filed.
Selected: He has been selected to file an H-1B petition subject to the prescribed maximum amount.
Not Selected: You have not been selected – you are not eligible to submit an H-1B application subject to the regulatory maximum amount based on this record.
Denied: Multiple records were submitted by or on behalf of the same applicant for the same beneficiary. If it was denied as a duplicate record, all records submitted by or on behalf of the same applicant for that beneficiary for the fiscal year are invalid.
Payment invalidated or declined: A record was submitted but the payment method was denied, not accepted, or invalid.
