DETROIT (WXYZ) – The public can now register to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine at Detroit’s Ford Field. The vaccination clinic officially opens on March 24th.
Officials say that after registering, they will receive a voice message or a text message notifying them when they need to book the appointment. Appointments will be scheduled a few days before the clinic opens.

“The Ford Field community vaccination site is a testament to what we can do when we work together,” Governor Gretchen Whitmer said. “I am grateful for the leadership of President Biden and the association of the Detroit Lions, Meijer, Wayne County, the City of Detroit and our federal partners of FEMA. We will continue to increase our equitable deployment of vaccines and, with the addition from the Ford Field community site, we are taking a significant step toward normalization as we continue to rebuild our economy. “
The Ford Field Vaccination Clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., seven days a week. It will remain open for a total of eight weeks, according to the federal government’s pilot vaccination program.

(Residents who do not have Internet access or need help navigating during the registration process can use the MDHHS COVID-19 hotline to register. Call Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. h) The call center is expected to have long waiting times, so it is only recommended to call people who cannot register online or by text message)
