If you are a PlayStation Plus member, you are entitled to a handful of games each month. When PS5 was released in November, the number of monthly games rose to three: two PS4 games and one on PS5. This is obviously great if you’ve managed to get some of Sony’s new consoles, though, and if you’re having trouble finding PS5 stock or just hoping to make the leap? You’re missing out on this extra PS Plus game, right? Well, you don’t have to be.
You can easily claim any PS5 game that comes to PS Plus, even if you don’t have the hardware itself. Let’s take this month’s Maneater as an example. If you want to be able to play it on your future PS5, you can add it to your library via your PlayStation smartphone app or the PlayStation web store. Just sign in to your PSN account with any of these, search for the game by searching, and click Add to Library. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have Maneater in the game library and be able to download it once you’ve set up your shiny new PS5.
This, of course, will apply to Destruction AllStars once it launches on February 2 and for any future PS5 game coming to PS Plus. If you add games to your library using a browser or app, make sure you don’t miss these first PS5 gifts. It’s pretty simple, but it’s not something that’s immediately obvious. If you see a PS5 to PS Plus game you want to play, the lack of a PS5 doesn’t mean you can’t finally play it.
Do you have any PS5 PS Plus games sitting in the library using this method? Want to claim Destruction AllStars so you can play it once you have your PS5? Tell us in the comments section below.
