The National Baseball Commission reported on Monday that Santiago de Cuba athlete Edilse Silva L’O has been sanctioned for not intervening in the game that will mark the resumption of the quarterfinals between his team, Santiago de Cuba, and Las Tunas.
The decision responds to the indiscipline committed when he used social media to spread criteria that, in addition to distorting reality, had to be aired with the organizers of the event, as required by its regulations.
The commission in charge of evaluating the facts took into account that the athlete acknowledged the error and reacted positively to the criticism received, including that of numerous fans who identified his misconduct.
The significance of the postseason and the general attitude of his team were also analyzed, which has been pronounced contrary to what has happened. “We insist that we are accompanied by the will to discuss any assessment aimed at responding more strongly to the priority that the country assigns to our sport, but we also reiterate that indiscipline will never go unanswered,” said the National Commission.
