Republican Representative for Ohio Steve Stivers, who has publicly refused to approve an additional $ 1,400 check to complete the $ 2,000 President Joe Biden has said he wants to bring to citizens, made a proposal to the new federal administration.
As he said in an interview with Yahoo! Finance, Stivers would be willing to “sign for a $ 1,400 check for people who get vaccinated.”
The member of the federal House of Representatives has added that he is not “in favor of giving a check for $ 1,400 for anything” but would do so only under that condition.
“So we would buy something with the $ 1,400 and it’s herd immunity,” he added.
The representative asked the Biden administration to consider this possibility to “reach herd immunity as soon as we can.”
“It’s so important that we build the herd’s immunity as soon as we can,” Ohio said @RepSteveStivers he says. “While I’m not required to make any $ 1400 stimulus for anything, I would be willing to sign a stimulus … for people who get the vaccine.” pic.twitter.com/qEeOG1uXcz
