A referendum Released on Monday Republican respondents determined that they were four times more likely than Democrats to never receive the COVID-19 vaccine as they began to be vaccinated nationwide.
A ABC News-Ipsos poll The party identity of a respondent was found to be directly related to their willingness to take the vaccine. A total of 26 percent of Republican respondents said they would never get the Govt-19 vaccine, compared to 6 percent of Democrats and 14 percent of Independents.
The poll found that nearly twice as many Democrats or 49 percent preferred to get the vaccine once it was available, compared with 28 percent of Republicans and 42 percent of independents.
But 45 percent of Democrats, Republicans and independents all said they would wait a while before getting vaccinated.
Overall, 8 out of 10 respondents said they would get the vaccine, 40 percent said it was coming soon and 44 percent said they were waiting. Fifteen percent of respondents said they refused to be vaccinated.
When it comes to age, 93 percent of people over the age of 65 say they get vaccinated and 57 percent say they will get it soon. For those under 30, 80 percent say they are open to being vaccinated, but 50 percent say they wait until they get it.
Nine out of 10 people with at least a bachelor’s degree are open to getting vaccinated, while 80 percent of those with a high school degree or less agree.
A total of 69 percent of respondents said they or someone they knew was infected with Govt-19, and 45 percent of them said they would be vaccinated immediately. But 30 percent of respondents, who did not know anyone who was not affected, said they would be vaccinated immediately.
The ABC News-Ipsos poll surveyed 621 adults between December 12-13. It had an error margin of 4.3 percentage points.
The referendum comes after the Food and Drug Administration approved Pfizer and Bioendech’s corona virus vaccine, which spurred the delivery process for the first dose. Health workers and vulnerable people have been appointed to receive the first vaccines in the country.
