Last year the world faced one of the greatest challenges in the recent history of mankind, on March 6 the first case of Coronavirus in Colombia was confirmed and since then the pandemic has claimed the lives of 62,000 Colombians and has agitated, as never before, the labor, political, economic and health systems, highlighting one of the main problems that afflicts the whole world for decades and that is exacerbated in countries like ours: inequity social, with its harsh consequences on people’s rights.
In the midst of this context, 2020 will go down in history as a year full of changes, challenges and enormous challenges, which have tested fundamental values such as solidarity, responsibility and resilience, but also as a year of great learnings and deep reflections, including that well-being and social progress are only viable if they are collective.
And this is how, within this scenario, Compensar, one of the youngest family compensation boxes in the system, continues to articulate efforts in the hands of its nearly 97,000 affiliated entrepreneurs to contribute to the consolidation of a society with better opportunities. as ratified at its Ordinary General Assembly of affiliates, held on March 18, for the second consecutive year in virtual format, where Carlos Maurici Vásquez, its CEO, shared the main results of the management of the year 2020, in which the entity carried out more than 50 million activities, between Caixa and Salut, a figure very close to that of 2019, without a pandemic, when it developed 62,500,000.
Actions to alleviate users’ pockets
· Benefit more than 1,257,000 people with $ 818.4 billion delivered through different types of subsidy, including more than 49,500 people benefiting from the Emergency Grant, with $ 107 billion.
· Granted financial relief of more than $ 358 billion to 57,000 workers in 2,700 companies, and developed a virtual credit process from start to finish, helping to deliver nearly 200,000 loans for more than $ 173,000 during the year. million, 84% to category A and B affiliates.
· Benefit more than 3,500 students from its university foundation with scholarships, grants and discounts of more than $ 4.6 billion, ensuring the continuity of their studies.
· Reoriented resources to accompany companies in the sectors most affected by the pandemic, identifying the main needs of its employees to support them with various benefits, impacting about 3,300 companies of different sizes and about 546.00 workers affiliated to categories A and B.
· Expanded its network of allies, including virtual supply, and benefited more than 830,000 people, 93% affiliated in categories A and B, with savings of more than $ 93 billion in different establishments, mainly in the purchase of food, bath implements, medicines and technology.
In line with the needs of those who need it most
· It maintained in progress the programs of Integral Attention to the Childhood and Complementary School Day, that it develops in agreement with the Secretary of Education of the District, implementing new pedagogical methodologies that allowed to benefit near 31,000 boys and girls. In the same vein, he adapted the School Feeding Program which he also develops in conjunction with the Secretariat, delivering 5,680,000 food vouchers and 152,000 food packages to prepare at home.
· Helped place about 30,000 people in employment through its Employment Agency and train more than 100,000 virtually. In addition, he designed a free virtual showcase to make it easier for entrepreneurs to market their products and services.
· It impacted with various cash and health services about 342,000 older adults, one of the population groups most at risk and affected in the midst of the pandemic.
· It supported nearly 6,000 people, mostly belonging to rural areas of northwestern Cundinamarca, through innovative initiatives such as: Cybervolunteering, Solidarity Reloads, Solidarity Bingo, Rural Employment and Inclusive Shopping.
Crossing the barriers of presence
· Accelerated innovation and digitization projects, advancing rapidly in the automation of procedures, enabling new channels, application development, platforms, virtual assistants and the migration to non-face-to-face media of many of its services.
· Since the beginning of the pandemic, it has enabled free online spaces to accompany millions of families at home, with training, sports, cultural and health activities and content, reaching more than 3 million people each month.
· It registered more than 2,600,000 uses in the services of recreation, education, sport and culture, 37% in virtual activities, favoring the physical, mental and emotional well-being of 1,340,000 people.
· Through its virtual event production platform it connected more than 481,000 people in 1,031 events, leveraging companies ’strategic goals.
· Delivered 1,874 housing solutions, designing 100% virtual experiences to accompany families throughout the process, and also impacted 24,000 people with the Community Social Development program.
Some health results
In health, one of the fronts that had to take on greater challenges in 2020, cared for more than 1,200,000 patients and performed nearly 40 million activities, Covid and non-Covid, including: 2,284,000 teleorientation appointments and more than 3,126,000 face-to-face, 1,466,000 Promotion and Prevention activities, 2,000,000 home-delivered drugs to 153,000 prioritized people, 490,000 Covid samples processed, and 693,000 kits produced for sampling. In addition, it adapted its infrastructure to the needs of the pandemic and an example of this is the transformation, in just 12 days, of its headquarters 26th Street into a Hospital IPS, the Provisional Hospital of Calle134, the installation Covid sample camp in the Jubilee Square, 3 new modular laboratories and the teleorientation model at its headquarters Av.68, among others.
