Retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s and Wayfair, have stopped selling My Pillow products after Trump CEO Mike Lindell filed unfounded claims of electoral fraud in the 2020 presidential election
Driving the news: Lindell told NBC News Tuesday that retailers called him to tell him they could face a “boycott” if they didn’t take action. But Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s have said the decision was related to the lack of demand for My Pillow products.
- Lindell insisted on Fox9 that there were “leftists” on social media behind the moves, which he claimed also caused HEB to drop My Pillow products.
What they say: Axios has contacted all merchants for feedback. Bed Bath & Beyond told the New York Times in a statement, “We’ve been streamlining our assortment to stop producing a number of low-performing items and brands.”
- Kohl’s told USA Today in a statement, “Demand for MyPillow customers has decreased. We will sell our current inventory and will not buy additional / future inventory from the brand.”
Note: The retailers ’action comes a day after Dominion Voting Systems sent a letter of cessation and withdrawal to Lindell for its dissemination of misinformation related to the 2020 election.
