An FBI hunt for an apparent Rick Moranis who took part in the January 6 Capitol riot made the actor a trending topic on social media on Sunday.

Moranis was a trend on Twitter after the FBI posted a photo of a different man who allegedly participated in the riot in the U.S. Capitol building, the New York Post reported.

Photographs of the man sought to be questioned by federal investors show he bears some resemblance to the actor, especially in his role in the hit comedy ‘Spaceballs’.

‘You can help the #FBI identify people involved in the January 6 violence at the U.S. Capitol. Visit http://tips.fbi.gov if you recognize this person. Reference photo 268 on your board, “the FBI said Sunday with two photos of the man.

Twitter users quickly noticed the similarities between the helmeted suspect and the Toronto-born star. And of course, if the FBI was really looking for Moranis, they were supposed to be able to find him.

On Twitter, people responded to the likeness of dozens of screenshots of the 1987 Star Wars ‘Spaceballs’ parody, in which Moranis played a parody with glasses and a giant helmet by Darth Vader called ‘Dark Helmet’ .
