Good communication and better relationship between the two countries: Ebrard

Through a video, Chancellor Marcelo Ebrard celebrated that the meeting with the EU team led by Roberta Jacobson was conducted cordially and in which both countries expressed their views on different initiatives.

In the material published on the social networks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ebrard highlighted as one of the issues of great importance, the development and well-being of countries in Central America and southern Mexico, in which he said it is expected that the United States be 1 in the effort of these nations to take effective action in the short and medium term and thus make migration an alternative and not a necessity.

In 2019, the Mexican government, together with Cepal, launched the Comprehensive Development Plan, which seeks the development of Central America and southern Mexico. Today’s former President of the United States, Donald Trump, would have promised to allocate resources for this plan, however, financial support did not arrive.

“What we would like is for the United States to sign part of this effort by Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and also Mexico.”

“In essence, how can we agree that, in something that we both agree on, we can take effective action in the short and medium term, if we persevere and act together we can get these countries to have another future “, he pointed out.
