Roberto Reis, “Primo Chomo”, was and will be the most polished Salvadoran on national radio

Roberto Reis, the ingenuity and talent behind the popular national radio character, died on April 1, 2021, at 11:00 pm, a victim of kidney failure and pneumonia that they complicated him. This was reported by his son, Roberto Reis Jr., “Chomito”, who inherited this versatility that so characterized his famous parent.

The comedian and announcer also shared the news in the early hours of April 2 on his Twitter wall, generating a wave of messages of support and affection from those who knew and admired his father.

His passion for acting began in his youth, when he used to raise his age to be able to read short scripts in popular radio novels.

Reis created Chomo in the 1980s, motivated by his radio colleagues, the group Yellow Fever, Tito Flores and a colleague they called “El Barbarazo”. In August 2013, he received recognition in Los Angeles, California, during the August festivities, as part of his 35-year artistic career.

His remains will be buried this April 3 in the La Resurrecció Memorial Park.
