U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Robin Bernstein stressed on Tuesday that relations between the two countries are “stronger than ever” and hope that they will remain so under the administration of Joe Biden.
“I think that relations are stronger than ever in this administration and I want to remind you that at the end of this management we will do a live event on the embassy page that I hope will be seen by all of you,” he said. expressed Bernstein.
On his continuity in office, the ambassador explained that each administration is free to choose its staff, but that he was “satisfied” with his work done in the country in recent years.
“In a democracy, everyone has the right to appoint all members of their cabinet and this decision is in the hands (of Biden) but I have been very grateful to have been here in the last two years,” Bernstein said through his interpreter.
The ambassador’s statements came on her arrival at the National Palace, prior to her award ceremony in the ambassador’s room which will be headed by President Luis Abinader.
