A few years ago, the photos went viral of director Guillermo del Toro and actor Ryan Gosling who were together at the Disneyland Resort in California. The rumor had it the couple was working in a film based on del Toro ‘s favorite journey, the Enchanted mansion. Eventually, however, that idea disappeared, and you had to wonder: if Guillermo del Toro and Ryan Gosling didn’t get a new one. Enchanted mansion movie made, who could?

Looks like the answer has already arrived. Limit date reports that heels are needed Loki star Owen Wilson joins the film, now Ahsoka Tano herself, Rosario Dawson, joins Disney’s latest Enchanted mansion film, along with the previously announced cast members, LaKeith Stanfield (Atlantaand Tiffany Haddish (Girls trip). Justin Simien (Dear whites) is directing from a screenplay by Katie Dippold (The heat).

It is unknown who will play any of these great actors legitimately, or what angle Dippold and Simien will take with the classic Disney attraction. But whatever it is, it would be reported that filming will begin in October, a suitably spooky month for what we assume will be a slightly spooky film.

Opened in 1969 in California before expanding worldwide, the Enchanted mansion it was one of Walt Disney’s great visions, though he never got to see it. Guests grab a “Doom Buggy” on a slow stroll through a wonderfully decorated mansion, full of ghosts and goblins, with stories to accompany them. Eddie Murphy starred in a film adaptation of the trip in 2003, but most people rightly try to forget about it. I would imagine this version of Enchanted mansion will have a little more scope and adventure, perhaps taking a page off Disney’s latest hit based on a theme park trip, Jungle cruise.

Whatever happens, there is a feeling that actors like Dawson, Wilson, Stanfield and Haddish would not sign the film with this level of cultural recognition without trust. This face, and that the film is really happening, makes us much more excited about the potential here.
