Members of the royal family have sent private messages to Piers Morgan, thanking him for “defending them” after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke the news on television, the former television presenter revealed.
Morgan quickly became one of the couple’s most outspoken critics, he even stopped working as a host of “Good Morning Britain” instead of apologizing.
Since then, “he has had a lot of private support from a lot of people,” including the families he has vigorously advocated, Morgan told “Extra.”
“I have been given some messages on behalf of several members of the royal family who were grateful … for someone to defend them,” the 56-year-old former judge told America’s Got Talent.
However, he was upset when asked if he included messages from “top-level people,” which said, “Well, I’m not going to get into who he was.”
Support also extended to his own family, even when his children received death threats from “so-called liberals” who were “driven by an online crowd.”
“My wife has always been totally supportive of this, but she hates online abuse,” she said, calling the threats to her children “completely disgusting”.
Alleging that he remains “resolutely unresolved,” Morgan said he would also love to have his own follow-up interview with Meghan and Harry to confront them about their most damaging claims to Oprah Winfrey.
“I would say to Meghan Markle,‘ Look, sit with me with your husband for an equally long interview and let me ask you harder questions about all your claims, ’Morgan told Billy Bush.
“‘ But let me ask you a broader question, which is this: if you hate the royal family so much … why do you keep your royal titles? ”He said of the couple who are still known as dukes. and Duchess of Sussex.
“Why would you do that if you don’t want to make millions and millions of dollars? And playing the victim, like you, is a nuisance, ”he said.
Morgan angrily defended himself against allegations that his attacks on Markle were racist, noting that he is so critical of Harry “and the last time I checked that he was white.”
“So I find this narrative deeply offensive,” he said.
