But new games are years away

In a statement based on comments made earlier by Bloober Team that it is working on a new horror game with a “very famous game editor,” Video Games Chronicle has updated its story with the claim that the Japanese publisher Konami plans to outsource its Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises to other developers. All new entries in the two series are missing for now, but company bosses are said to be more open to the idea of letting external equipment into IPs work after the bad performances of Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Corps.
VGC claims that this change of direction is what has allowed the Silent Hill franchise to be developed by a “prominent Japanese developer.” The site doesn’t completely refute speculation about the Bloober team also working on a new entry in the survival horror series, but it does suggest that two titles may actually be in production. One of them is due to be revealed this summer.
How do you react to that? Which developers do you think would fit into the Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
