Rumor: The latest switch firmware update has apparently added Bluetooth audio support

The recent update of Nintendo Switch 12.0.0 firmware may not seem very much based on the official notes of the patch, but according to data analysts there is much more exciting information at the bottom of it.

Following yesterday’s finding, which suggests there could be a “new” switching dock, it has been assumed that this latest update has added audio support to the system’s Bluetooth driver.

This information has been shared once again by well-known Nintendo data researchers OatmealDome:

As OatmealDome further pointed out, Bluetooth audio has been a “highly sought after feature” on the Nintendo Switch and with the increasingly common Bluetooth headphones, we’re sure many gamers would love to be able to connect certain wireless headphones to their system.

To combat the lack of support for wireless headphones, over the years we’ve seen a lot of third-party companies launching dongles that attach directly to the switch.

So what do you think? Sounds too good to be true, or do you think Nintendo could finally make Bluetooth audio devices compatible with the Switch? Share your thoughts below.
