According to the Weibo account @PandaIsBald, which in the past has shared information about the booking dates of the iPhone 13, Apple plans to launch the new ninth-generation ‌iPad‌ during or possibly after today’s event.

The new ‌iPad‌ is expected to include a 10.5-inch screen, improved performance and, like the current model, will suit students and customers who want an affordable ‌iPad‌ option.

The event is expected to headline the “iPhone 13,” the Apple Watch Series 7, and possibly third-generation AirPods. While these products are likely to appear during the event, Apple may decide to launch other products through press releases.

From Bloomberg Mark Gurman this week indicated that Apple is planning a second event this fall that will focus exclusively on the iPad and Mac. The ninth-generation ‌iPad‌ is one of two ‌iPad‌ updates planned before the end of the year. The other update, a new and redesigned iPad mini, is the most significant update, so it’s conceivable that Apple may dedicate its latest event to the “iPad mini” while previously releasing the more incremental baseline elineiPad update.

As the website points out AppleTrack as of today, the current eighth-generation eightiPad‌ was not yet available in several U.S. retail stores. The shortage of the ‌iPad‌ began to become apparent last week. Several Apple products, including Macs, iPhones, and iPads, are currently experiencing shortages due to the continued shortage of chips.

Whether or not the new ‌iPad‌ appears during the company’s “California streaming” event, Apple still has a lot in store to share. MacRumors will have in-depth coverage of the Apple event on our platforms, including a live blog on our website and live tweets via @MacRumorsLive on Twitter, so be sure to keep track of everything Apple has announced.
