Russian troops on the border with Ukraine could trigger war: analyst

The arrival of 4,000 Russian soldiers on the country’s border with Ukraine could trigger a European war, according to a military expert in the region.

According to reports, Pavel Felgenhauer’s warnings came when social media showed suspicious Russian military accumulations near eastern Ukraine and the rebel-annexed Crimean region.

“The crisis has the potential to escalate into a pan-European, if not global, war,” Felgenhauer, an independent Russian military analyst, said in a recent interview with the Rosbalt newspaper in Russia. “Will it happen or not? We look forward to seeing you. In the West, they don’t know what to do with it. ”

On Friday, Russia warned it would “take additional measures” if NATO sent troops to Ukraine as images of Russian military helicopters and tanks piled up at the border appeared.
