Salvadoran announcer Charlie Hernández denounced on Tuesday that he and two other people were the victims of an armed assault on Monday night. They were robbed of a vehicle, mobile phones, personal documents and other valuables.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 pm outside their workplace in the Rome colony in San Salvador, where at least three subjects stripped them of their belongings.
He relates that in the 11 years he has been working on the site “nothing had ever happened”, as even before what had happened the area was considered quiet.
Hernandez told elsalvador.com that he was preparing to retire from the company when he met a friend outside the facility. He kept all his belongings inside his vehicle and then went out of it into the street to talk to her. Unexpectedly three subjects walking through the sector approached them to threaten.

He assured that one of the individuals warned them, “Well this is an assault give me everything they have on hand, which you do not understand.” Meanwhile, he explained that another of the subjects pulled out a firearm, loaded it and aimed it at him to pressure him to hand over his things. He replied, “Chavo, I only have the cell phone and the cigars.”
He has indicated that the subject proceeded to register him, but only stole the mobile phone as he found no more valuables that might interest him.
He noted that he commented to the offender, “Look at my cell phone it doesn’t even work.” Then the man turned around, insulted him and aimed his gun at him. At that moment, “I said, ‘He already killed me,’ I just closed my eyes, but he didn’t do anything. I don’t know what will have stopped him,” he said.
However, the person with whom Hernandez was talking on the street had the keys to his vehicle in his hand and the subjects “took her at gunpoint” to his car “which was about 20 meters away.”
The woman was walking accompanied by an employee, who was waiting for her in the car and to whom the suspects got out of the vehicle. Both people were also robbed of all belongings and taken away.
