A Salvadoran migrant died and at least one other Salvadoran is hospitalized after the bus they were traveling in overturned on a stretch of road in the sector of the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, last Sunday at noon, according to media premises.
According to information circulating on social networks, at least 60 migrants were traveling in the vehicle, several of them from El Salvador. Of the total number of passengers, about 15 were seriously injured and are being treated at the Galeana General Hospital in Nou León.

The accident happened at dawn last Sunday. More migrants of Central American origin were traveling in the vehicle, although the number of Salvadorans traveling in the vehicle has not been detailed.
The Salvadoran who died was identified as Patricia Lisseth Quinteros, 29, originally from the municipality of Chirilagua, department of San Miguel, according to people who knew the victim and confirmed the death.

The same sources indicated that Samuel Mercat, Patricia’s cousin, is receiving medical attention. He was also originally from Chirilagua.
Both Salvadorans had been out of El Salvador for two weeks, trying to reach the United States, given the difficult economic situation they were going through in their places of origin.
Patricia’s death occurred just the day Victoria Salazar was buried in a private Sonsonate cemetery; the Salvadoran was killed by a group of police in the city of Tulum, state of Quintana Roo.
