OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Baltimore Ravens point guard Sam Koch was ranked Wednesday on the reserve list / COVID-19, endangering his streak of 15 consecutive years.
Koch was left out of practice Wednesday after his most recent test of COVID-19 returned unfinished, a source told ESPN. He has not lost a game since being selected in the sixth round by the Ravens in 2006, playing in a franchise record of 239 games in a row.
Subsequent tests will determine how long Koch will be out.
Koch’s potential loss comes days before the Ravens ’critical season finale at the Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore (10-5) can get a wild card berth by beating Cincinnati.
If Koch is out, kicker Justin Tucker would probably replace him. Tucker averaged 40.5 yards on 155 points in Texas.
The other issue is that Koch is the holder of extra points and field goals. Mark Andrews, the tight end, took some snapshots as a starter on the training ground.
