A murder case caused a stir in the country on July 6. Samuel David Soto, A boy of almost two years, was allegedly murdered violently in Ciudad Bolívar, Bogota.

The recent report presented by Forensic Medicine indicates that the child was the victim of “child abuse.” There it is explained that the child would have had a violent death. Victor Guerrero, lawyer for Joel Mora, Samuel David’s stepfather and main suspect, explained that the boy had a cranioencephalic trauma.
Two days ago, Mora, 19, was captured for this fact although he claims to be innocent. At the hearing held today, August 23, the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with aggravated homicide and aggravated domestic violence.

In that case, he would face up to 40 to 50 years in prison. This could be the first case in the country to suffer from life imprisonment.
Mora’s defense, meanwhile, will appeal the prosecution’s allegations.
Indignant relatives and citizens demonstrated to demand justice in the face of the atrocities suffered by the minor. According to ‘City TV’, Samuel would have been in the Kennedy Hospital due to various traumas in the body that led to his death.
The child under 20 months, born in Popayán, he lived with his mother and stepfather. The maternal family, who reside in the Cauca capital, told local media that upon seeing certain signs of child abuse, the parents told them he had been attacked by a dog.
