SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio International Airport closed Thursday after a shooting involving a police officer, according to San Antonio police.
Police said the shooting occurred at 9800 Airport Boulevard. It is unclear who, if anyone was shot, but police said there was no active threat to the public.
An airport spokesman said an “active shooter” was reported at the airport around 2:30 p.m.
Police said the situation was “contained” and no other suspects were being sought for the incident.
Two people were taken to hospital for injuries they suffered while fleeing the area during the shootings.
Earlier Thursday, a shooter opened fire from an overpass on Highway 281 and Loop 1604. No one was injured, but police said the shooter was still at large. It is unclear whether these incidents are related.
