San Diego Comic-Con announces dates for the November 2021 convention

The San Diego Comic-Con is being held this year in some form, form or form. Although Comic-Con International formally canceled the traditional summer convention earlier this year, the team has announced the dates of a smaller convention it plans to host later this year. According to a new press release distributed by Comic-Con organizers, the San Diego Comic-Con will now take place at the San Diego Convention Center during Thanksgiving Weekend. Instead of a one-week event, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con will be a three-day intimate affair, lasting from Friday, Nov. 26 to Sunday, Nov. 28.

The company will name this year’s convention as the “Comic-Con Special Edition” and the cost of the badge, attendance capacity and “related information” have not yet been decided by the convention center organizers and officials.

“While we’ve been able to rotate from face-to-face meetings to limited online events, the loss of revenue has had a sharp impact on the organization, as it has with many small businesses, which has required a reduced working hours and a reduction in employee salaries other issues, “Comic-Con spokesman David Glanzer said in a statement distributed by the team. “We hope this event strengthens our financial reserves and marks a slow return to the largest face-to-face meetings in 2022.”

Like virtually any other convention in 2020, Comic-Con was canceled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Now that vaccines are starting to be available statewide, the country has begun to slowly open up with social events. Over the past month or so, both New York and California, two of the last remnants nationwide, have begun opening their limited-capacity movie theaters.

“In Southern California, you’ll benefit from it,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said earlier about the theater’s situation. “Specifically, LA will be a big beneficiary of this new metric that will probably be met on Friday. And going through the weekend and until next week, you’ll see more activity and more loosening of levels. That’s encouraging and I hope people will enthusiasm for what this means moving forward, because we have a number of other thresholds and other goals that will allow us to move forward with more clarity, more conviction and more confidence as we move forward in the next few weeks and months. ”
