San Francisco Giants Oracle Park dealership workers vote to strike

San Francisco Giants Oracle Park concessionaire workers overwhelmingly voted Saturday for the strike, citing concerns about COVID-19 health and safety coverage.

According to UNITE HERE Local 2At least 20 concession workers have hired COVID-19 since the stadium reopened this season. According to the union, 96.7% of active stadium workers voted to go on strike.

The workers are hired by Bon Appetit, a company hired by the Giants. They worked out Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Oracle Park, but the strike could happen at any time. The Giants are scheduled to close out their series against the Dodgers on Sunday.

“Bon Appétit Management Company and Local 2 are currently in collective bargaining,” the Giants said in a statement to ABC7 News. “We encourage both parties to work productively to reach an agreement as soon as possible. The giants make the health and safety of everyone who works and visits Oracle Park a top priority. We operate our premises in compliance with the requirements of local and state health. “
