Sunday said he believed Senate Democrats have the votes to approve another COVID-19 relief package.
In an appearance on “This Week,” on ABC, presenter Martha Raddatz asked him if he believed Democrats had enough votes, as he seems to be declining bipartisan support for a bill.
“Yes, I think we do it because I find it hard to imagine any Democrat, no matter what state he may come from, who doesn’t understand the need to move forward right now in an aggressive way to protect working families in this country.” said Sanders.
“Look, we will all have differences of opinion. This is a $ 1.9 trillion bill. I have differences and concerns about this bill, ”Sanders said.
“But in the end, we will support the president of the United States and we will do what the American people will overwhelmingly want us to do. The votes are overwhelming. Republicans, Democrats, Independents,” the Vermont senator said.
“I think so,” says Sen. Bernie Sanders @MarthaRaddatz when asked if Democrats have enough votes to pass the COVID-19 relief bill.
Despite the “differences and concerns” about the bill, the American people need relief, he adds. https://t.co/0tIupXQlob pic.twitter.com/aGbtmRQ7b1
