Kentucky and Louisville tarnished the good name of college basketball on Saturday with 40 minutes of ugly basketball. Despite the bad game, Kentucky had a chance to win. Olivier Sarr’s attempt from the corner, the same place where a winner of the match against Notre Dame was lost, hit all the places on the edge before unfolding. The Wildcats lost 62-59, Kentucky’s sixth in a row and the first against Louisville since 2016.

Sarr was 0-4 on the night, with just one point and one rebound. Terrence Clarke was goalless, limited by an injured ankle, and BJ Boston scored just 3 of 11 field goals. Davion Mintz was the brightest star in the UK, scoring four triples to finish with 19 points and seven rebounds.

United had a second half of the second half, scoring nine minutes without a goal. Despite more offensive ineptitude, Kentucky still had a chance to win thanks to a strange and ugly sequence of events.

– Isaiah Jackson hits his own miss.
– Carlik Jones shot from the center of the box.
– Sarr takes two free throws.
– Violation of the UofL firing clock.
– Jackson’s 12-foot fault (and wasn’t very close).
– UofL Walk.
– Jackson goes 1 for 2 from the free throw line to tie the game at 59.
– Dr. Davis, of the UofL, leaves the baseline.
– Askew raises a three as the clock ticks forward, UK is asked for a loose ball on the rebound.
– Davis misses the first free kick, he makes the second.
– Sarr’s shot goes in and out.

Kentucky lost a rock fight. They are now 1-6, playing in the SEC.
