In one of several recent and strange scientific discoveries, scientists believe that penguins “could be aliens.”

Researchers in the UK later believe that studying penguins could help them identify other living things in other worlds.

The strange revelation came after remains of a chemical known as phosphine were found in the bird’s poop.

Experts have been baffled by not knowing how phosphine exists on Earth, as the chemical is 38 million kilometers away from Venus.

In order to find out how the penguin poop contained traces of chemicals, scientists now plan to study the lifestyle of gentoo penguins, according to The Daily Star. The gentoo penguin is more common in the Falkland Islands.

Dr. Dave Clements, of Imperial College London, said this to Daily Star as scientists are “convinced” that the phosphine finding is “real”. However, he admitted that they do not know “what he does”.

There are some anaerobic bacteria that produce phosphine. It is found in the drool of the pond and in the entrails of badgers and penguin guano.

It may have to do with defense or signaling against competing bacteria.

Last year, it was also found that the gas encompassing Venus had remnants of chemicals inside it, an environment that has an Earth-like atmosphere.

In other recent discoveries, scientists have realized that when rhinos are transported, it is safer to move them when they are upside down. The revelation received an Ig Nobel Prize, along with another finding that beards could be an “evolutionary development to help protect men’s faces from punches,” according to The week.

Scientists who analyzed the ways cats communicate with humans also received an award.

According to scientists, while parrots, hummingbirds and songbirds used to be considered the only birds capable of imitating human speech, a supplanting duck that speaks for the first time has just been heard.

In accordance with The week, other mammals such as dolphins, bats, elephants, seals and whales also know how to mimic human sounds.
