Seattle sailors will host the 2023 MLB All-Star Game, sources say

Seattle has been chosen to host the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 2023, sources familiar with the decision told ESPN on Tuesday.

According to sources, plans are being finalized to bring the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby to T-Mobile Park, which last hosted it in 2001, when it was known as Safeco Field. MLB declined to comment and said it would not confirm Seattle was the election.

MLB already had two future All-Star venues: Los Angeles Dodger Stadium next year and Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park during the 2026 season. The league moved the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver after the adoption of new voting laws by Georgia.

T-Mobile Park, a jewel with a retractable roof that is almost a quarter of a century old, but is still considered one of the best stages in the game, has spent almost 20 years without a game of great importance, being in 2001 also the ‘last year the Mariners made the playoffs.
