Voting rights groups continued to call for the filibuster to be removed immediately after Tuesday Democrats unveiled new compromised legislation on voting rights.
The groups said they supported the new bill, which includes significant reforms such as 15 guaranteed days of early voting, protections against subversion for local election officials, mandatory voting by email and same-day registration.
