The Secretary of Justice, Domingo Emanuelli Hernández and the District Attorney of the Carolina Prosecutor’s Office, Inés de l’C. Carrau Martínez, reported that the Public Ministry assigned a total of 7 prosecutors to attend to the scene reported today in Carolina.
“It’s a very complex and extensive scene that started on Roberto Clemente Avenue, then reported near Carolina Shopping Court on Highway # 3, the chase continued at Castro’s Baldorioty Bird in front of Embassy Suites and culminate the incidents on Jupiter Street on the side of the Residential Llorens Torres.As a result of these unfortunate and violent events, 4 law enforcement officers were injured, 3 of whom later died in the ‘hospital, one will be seriously injured,’ reads the written communication.
Carolina prosecutors who are working on the scenes are Jorge Umpierre, Jimara Gabriel, Melitza Osorio, Mayor Barbosa, Steven Liong and Iris Martinez Juarbe. Along with them is prosecutor Alfredo Carrión, director of the Metropolitan Center for Investigations and Complaints (CMID).
In turn, prosecutors are working hand in hand with the Forensic Science Negotiator, police officers and agents of the Federal Investigation Negotiation, known by its acronym in English FBI.
“All necessary resources will be allocated for the clarification of this unfortunate crime and we stand in solidarity with the relatives of the officers who bravely died in the line of duty,” the Justice head said.
