Shadow of the Colossus, the last developer of Guardian mocks the next game

GenDesign, the studio formed by developers who have previously worked on successful games such as Ico, Shadow of the colossus, and more recently The last guardian, has begun to show what he is working on next. While so far there is very little to see of this mysterious project, a new image of the game has recently been released.

On the official GenDesign website, the studio updated the site’s home page to present a new greeting they wish to fans in 2021. The same website, however, also includes an image showing four of the games the studio has worked. turned on. The three titles mentioned in Ico, Shadow of the colossus, i The last guardian they appeared in the picture, with the fourth game clearly shown as the studio’s latest project.

As for what we can distinguish from this image of the new mystery game, well, there’s not much to see. In terms of its aesthetics, it seems to be in line with what GenDesign has worked on in the past and features a bright color palette. We can also see a character who seems to be wearing a poncho of some sort next to what could be a boulder. Water and grass also surround this character.

Although GenDesign has not yet formally revealed what this new title will be, there are some key details we know. Work on the project is said to have started as early as 2018. Last year it was also announced that Epic Games would fund the development of the game. GenDesign retains absolute control and ownership of the IP itself while profits are shared 50/50 between the two parties.

It is unknown when the latest GenDesign game may arrive, but according to this agreement with Epic, it should hit several platforms. Despite having previously released all of its games only for PlayStation platforms, it now looks like Xbox and PC gamers will be able to participate in the advancing action.

Hopefully, this initial GenDesign joke to start the year means the studio wants to share more about the game in 2021. If that ends up sweating, we’ll obviously let you know here on ComicBook.com.
