Shailene Woodley confirmed she was engaged to Aaron Rodgers during an interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday – and gave viewers a first look at her engagement ring.
The spark of the 29-year-old actress from the 37-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback appears to feature a large round center stone and could be spotted several times along the segment as Woodley spoke of the couple’s big step.
“It’s not new news for us, so it’s funny that everyone is freaking out right now,” the Big Little Lies star said. “We’re like, ‘Yes, we’ve been engaged for a while.’
Woodley described his footballing fiancé as a “wonderful and amazing human being,” joking, “I never thought I would be engaged to someone throwing balls to make a living.”
“I never thought as a girl,‘ Yeah, when I grow up, I’ll marry someone who throws balls, yeah! “But he’s really that good at it.”
He added the “Divergent” star, who said he met Rodgers during the pandemic: “I don’t know him as the type of football. I know him as, as the nerd who wants to host ‘Jeopardy!’ ”.
Woodley and Rodgers, who share the same astrologer, first met in early February. Days later, Rodgers announced he was engaged, but kept the name of his fiancée at the time.
Rodgers previously dated Danica Patrick, while Woodley was linked with rugby player Ben Volavola.
