Sharon Van Etten announces the epic album Ten Covers with Fiona Apple, Lucinda Williams and more

Sharon Van Etten has announced it epic God—A double album celebrating his 2010 LP epic. The double album includes the original album and a cover LP with Fiona Apple, Lucinda Williams, Big Red Machine, Courtney Barnett with Vagabon and more. Today (March 4), Van Etten has released the cover of Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s “A Crime.” Watch it below and scroll down to see the full song list.

“Sharon is one of my favorite songwriters and I have been very lucky to collaborate with her many times over the years,” Dessner said in a press release. “Recording‘ A Crime ’with Justin, more than ten years after dealing with‘ Love More ’on MusicNOW with my brother Bryce – and thinking about all our shared memories – seemed like a complete circle to me. It is an honor to be able to pay tribute to Sharon and her amazing songs. We felt that the door should be about to fall off the hinges of this version and I think that sounds like it ”.

epic God comes out digitally on April 16 and physically on June 11 via Ba Da Bing. Every Thursday before epic GodThe release of Van Etten will share the next song on the album cover.

Van Etten has also announced this epic Ten: the documentary and the concert which will benefit the Los Angeles Zebulon venue. The film, which is screened on April 16 and 17, stars Van Etten and his band epic entirely in Zebulon.

Going from intern to artist at Ba Da Bing, from solo folk singer to playing with a band for the first time and starting to play shows on the tour where people appeared. I’m scared of the artists who wanted to participate in my birthday celebration and reissue, from inspiring young musicians to artists who took me under their wing, whom I met on tour and to artists I’ve seen since I was a teenager. Each of these artists continues to influence my writing and provides a sense of camaraderie during this new era of music sharing.
