Shawn King has opened her final moments with her late husband Larry King.
“We were able to do FaceTime in the hospital and it was hard for him to talk, but the only message he wanted to make sure he heard was,‘ I love you, take care guys ’, he told Entertainment Tonight of the famous final moments station.
Shawn, 61, and Larry shared two children together, Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20. He is also survived by his eldest son, Larry King, 59, from his marriage to Annette Kaye.
Larry died Saturday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 87 years old.
Although Larry’s sixth wife, Julia Alexander, told The Post that she died of coronavirus, which she had contracted in December, Shawn said that was not her real cause of death.
“It was an infection, it was sepsis,” he said at the exit. “Well, it was finally ready, I’ll tell you. You know, he never wanted to go there, but his small, sweet body was just right, he had just been hit so many times with so many things, and once we heard the word COVID, all our hearts sank. But he beat him, you know, but he took the bill and, finally, the unrelated infection is what brought him, but boy, wouldn’t he fall easily ”.
Shawn, who was in the process of divorcing the legendary CNN host, said he never thought they would end their separation because of their partnership.
“We already know that Larry and I never finished the divorce,” he noted. “In my heart, I didn’t think it would really happen and I never did. We were partners in every way, in business and, well, first in our family and then in business. … You know, family is the most important thing and God. “
The family let Larry rest this week and paid tribute in the most appropriate way possible, with his signature accessory.
“Everyone, it was just family, we were wearing Larry suspenders, everyone,” he said. “And he was beautiful, loving … perfect, perfect. It was family. There was no show, no, none of that.
“I think death is perhaps the great equalizer,” he continued. “You know, when you experience it with people we really love, all the other noises and nonsense that can surround you, they just disappear and the family comes together. And that’s what happened. You know, it was beautiful.
