Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez has doubts about the confrontation they starred in this January 27th officials from the Ministry of Culture against artists protesting peacefully on the outskirts of the institution.
“I tried to watch the aforementioned video of the culture officials attacking the artists but I didn’t get it,” he said in a comment on his blog Second Appointment, after a user put the topic on the table.
“I saw one where Deputy Minister Fernando Rojas invites them several times to go to the ministry; then something very confusing happens, a shout, and there is a boy saying that there are policemen with guns (who are not seen either),” adds Silvio.
The troubadour then says that on two opposition websites, to watch the video, they ask you to accept cookies.
“If they so much want to spread the alleged injustice, they should give facilities. No?”, He adds.
In another of his comments, Rodriguez said: “Possibly there are well-meaning young people here, but without a doubt there is also opposition work. We need to be clear.”
Although Silvio Rodríguez does not recognize the reality that took place on January 27, the images where the Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso nails a hand the protesters do not cease to outrage those who see them.
After what happened on Wednesday, Cuban officials denied that the minister attacked the protesters, as according to the official version of what happened, Alonso only he was trying to pull out a phone pointing at him.
Following the various questions that the author of Woman’s oil with hat he received, he said in addition to Wednesday’s events: “It should be an indisputable right to be able to walk through life without being recorded or filmed, but since smart telephony exists these transgressions have become a daily practice. It is also true that, long before, special services around the world recorded and / or filmed any person or activity of interest to them, sometimes – it is said – without the proper legal authorization required by security issues. national “.
He then added: “We should find out how these situations are legally considered in the rest of the world. And legislate defending everyone’s rights: what they film and what they don’t want to be filmed. Don’t they say that everyone’s rights end where they begin on the other hand? Making the rules of this game very clear may prevent us (ALL) from future inconveniences. “
Although Silvio Rodríguez questions the reality of the events, more than one Cuban has been outraged by the situation and is requesting the resignation of the minister and deputy minister.
Such is the case of the Cuban comedian Alexis Valdés: “All decent Cuban artists must demand the immediate resignation of the Minister and the Deputy Minister of Culture. And if not, go all out for the Ministry of Culture to demand it,” he argued.
