Sissolak extends statewide COVID-19 suspension; Reinstalling the exhaust barrier

Carson City, Nev. (Colo) – 4:30 pm Update: Government Steve Sissolak said he would extend the statewide suspension he announced in November until January 15.

These restrictions apply to businesses such as restaurants, gyms and casinos. This also applies to private meetings.

Sissolak re-established the ban on evictions for non-payment of rent. It comes into effect in early December 15 and runs until March 31. This does not prevent tenants from being evicted for issues such as violating the law.

The governor cited Nevada’s COVID-19 infection rate and increased mortality.

Sisolak said he hopes the increase caused by Thanksgiving meetings and other activities will bring more cases to the state.

Increased cases tax hospitals, and Sissolak wants everyone to have access to health care, whether it is related to COVID-19 or something else.

He said a study shows that if 95 percent of Nevadans wear the mask, it will prevent 1,000 deaths by April 1st.

The first vaccine is expected to reach Nevada on Monday, which Sissolak said is good news.

“I have no problem with whether my mother, my sister, my wife or my children or anyone else is getting vaccinated,” Sisolak said.

If extending the suspension does not work, he will be forced to take drastic action.

He said the suspension would cause economic pain for Nevada families.

Original story: Gov. Steve Sissolak said he would hold an online press conference at 4pm on Sunday to provide an update on Nevada’s Govt-19 response.

Health officials in Nevada recorded 2,882 new COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths Sunday, the Associated Press reported.

Sissolak announced stricter controls in November in response to infection rates and the filling of hospital beds. Sisolak said he plans to re-evaluate the restrictions, which he described as a “statewide suspension” three weeks later, which will be on December 16.

Washoe County crossed the 30,000-infection mark on Saturday.

The state of Nevada reported 186,833 infections and 2,539 COVID-19-related deaths.
