The Philadelphia 76ers were left in a tough position Thursday night, when they only had one true center on their roster after the trade they did to acquire George Hill early in the day.
The team sent Tony Bradley and Vincent Poirier into the deal that, combined with Joel Embiid’s injury, left the Sixers with only Dwight Howard to occupy the center. It was a difficult situation, to begin with, but then it got worse when the match started.
Howard faced off in a showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers ’great man, Montrezl Harrell, and they both went back and forth throughout the first quarter and Howard picked up a first technology in the quarter. During the break, Howard bumped into Harrell, and was sent off with a second technique leaving the Sixers without real centers for the rest of the game.
