Breath of the Wild fang Waikuteru is in roll. Last week, they recovered the glorified storage unit that is Link’s home. They have now taken full control of the giant house that houses Link’s house, with what I mean Hyrule.

In a new video, Waikuteru demonstrates how a modding advance allows them to edit Breath of the Wild‘s overworld, that is, it is now possible to recreate others Zelda games inside BOTWthe expansive limits. Waikuteru has shown this by dropping a piece of Skyward Sword—The city of Skyloft— in the game, floating waterfalls and an extremely specific color palette included.

In the video, Waikuteru explained how they got it.

“There are four accessible worlds Breath of the Wild: The overly normal world you can see in the background, the world you will warp into when you enter a shrine, MainFieldDungeon (will play in this world when you try to complete a Divine Beast or the final test), [and] AocField (this is a new world that was added with The master tests DLC, better known as Sword Test). MainField … is separated into 80 map sections “.

AocField is split the same way, but only uses 5 of the 80 sections of the map. “The other 75 map sections are free for us,” Waikuteru said. They put Skyloft in section 75 of the map and proceeded to jump and run to other empty, busy sections. As they did so, the lighting and music in the game changed rapidly depending on the type of location Link was supposed to have.

What this means, in theory (and apparently in practice), is that the possibilities for Breath of the Wild the modding is now much larger than before. The sky — or at least Skyward Sword“It’s the limit.”
