Sleeping too much or too much can increase your risk of Alzheimer’s disease, according to a new report

If you don’t get enough sleep or have too many eyes closed, you may be at increased risk for Alzheimer’s disease.

A new JAMA Neurology report found that people who sleep six hours or less each night had high levels of beta-amyloid – a protein found in the brain that is considered a marker for Alzheimer’s.

However, adults who slept more than nine hours showed similar reductions in cognitive ability.

Researchers say the sweet place to sleep is seven to eight hours a night.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than six million Americans currently live with Alzheimer’s disease. The association predicts that number will increase to about 50 million Americans by 2050.
