San Luis Obispo County added 282 new cases of COVID-19 over three days, bringing the county’s total to 17,887 confirmed cases as of Feb. 1.
164 new cases were reported on Saturday, 65 cases were registered on Sunday and 53 new cases were registered on Monday.
Health officials say there are currently 52 people hospitalized. Another 1,184 people are recovering at home and health officials say 16,445 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 15 of the 38 licensed ICU beds and county staff are currently occupied. Thirteen of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.
The county also added nine COVID-19-related deaths. To date, there have been 177 total deaths attributed to the virus in SLO County.

The location of an additional 66 cases is being investigated and another six are shown as “other,” which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.
Currently, community COVID-19 test sites are open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
