NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WTVF) – Snow, sleet and freezing rain have shifted outside of Middle Tennessee and Kentucky, but icy road conditions remain. Officials are again urging people to stay home.
Numerous crashes were reported on Monday as travel conditions deteriorated throughout the day. During the night, the snow stopped, but temperatures will only reach the 1920s on Tuesday, so the roads will not have a chance to thaw.
Nashville’s neighborhood streets remain covered in snow and ice and pose a real risk to travel. Major roads and interstates are passable, but there is still snow and ice. If travel is absolutely essential, drive slowly and very carefully. Stay home if possible. pic.twitter.com/joMhr4kT6H

During a Tuesday update, a TDOT snowplow operator gave advice on how to drive in icy conditions.
All counties in Middle Tennessee report icy road conditions.
Reporter Aaron Cantrell and photojournalist Quan McWil were able to help a Nashville driver who was trapped Tuesday morning.
Eric Goodman, a Nashville resident, was driving to the store when he was trapped near Donelson Pike. Fortunately, myself and photojournalist @QuanMcwil_TV he was there to help get the car out of the snow. Listen to Eric and stay home! @ NC5 pic.twitter.com/IVK83nXKc3

To make matters worse, temperatures are not expected to surpass frosts until later this week. Another winter storm appears to be moving late Wednesday through Thursday, causing more ice and snow.
Here’s a look at road conditions throughout the area starting Tuesday morning:
Road conditions have not improved, they are still covered in ice. The city street works 12-hour shifts plowing and salting the main roads. So far no midnight shocks were recorded at 6:30 p.m. Twelve clashes were recorded on Monday. Unless it’s an emergency, please stay off the roads. pic.twitter.com/g1lm0bw1fc

There are still icy roads or ice / snow stains. The risks of traveling around the area continue.
Crews have been plowing and salting, but extreme weather has kept conditions rigid in many places. Stay there if possible, be very careful if you have to go out.
Go slowly, not the back door.
