the Tennis International Integrity Agency (Itia) confirmed today that two Russian tennis players Sofia Dmitrieva and Alija Merdeeva they have been excluded from the sport for life, as a result of an investigation by party manipulation.
The two tennis players, doubles partners in two of the parties investigated, “they are permanently prohibited from playing or attending any authorized tennis event or sanctioned by the governing bodies of the tennis court, “Itia said in a statement.
Merdeeva, Which had the 928th place as its best single ranking and the 644th in the doubles ranking, was involved in two incidents of party manipulation. For its part, Dmitrieva, which went on to rank 1191 and 939 in the WTA singles and doubles rankings, was involved in six party manipulation incidents and, in addition, she was accused of not cooperating with the investigation.
Both have been sanctioned for violating the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program.
